Can you really get ebook downloads free?

Can you really get anything for free these days?

I was looking for an ebook to download and was amazed at how meny websites there are on google for free ebook downloads, C'mon nothing is free these days only air-love etc right? well it seems you can get free ebooks BUT and it's a big BUT, BEWARE OF viruses and adware attatched to the so called free ebooks you download. I found out the hard way when an ebook i downloaded installed a pop up advertising page every so often when browsing(so annoying). the only thing i had let on to my computer was this ebook and as soon as i deleted the file and ran adaware the pop ups stopped, so is there any legitimate free ebooks out there are are they just after a quick buck? well i came accross an ebook download store that is not free but the ebooks start at just 1p and are only 99p maximum, www.download-ebooks.info if anyone has any more links to cheap download stores that are legit please feel free to post address.
